Food and Nutrition

At Jack and Jill we focus on promoting healthy eating habits and sustainability practices.
All families at Jack and Jill are encouraged to provide nutritious morning tea and lunch for their children. We understand the importance of fueling young bodies with wholesome foods and we're committed to supporting families in making nutritious choices.
As part of our sustainability efforts, we encourage families to minimise packaging wherever possible, as we believe in reducing waste and caring for our environment.
In addition to morning tea and lunch, our service provides afternoon tea to ensure that children have the energy they need to thrive throughout the day. We strive to create a balanced and wholesome menu that caters to the dietary needs and preferences of all children in our care.

We work alongside 'Munch and Move', a program that aims to promote and encourage children's healthy eating, physical activity and reduce small screen recreation. Through Munch & Move, NSW early childhood educators have the opportunity to attend a full day training program to assist them in implementing fun, play-based approaches to support healthy eating and physical activity habits in young children. This training program fits within the new National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework, and is a NSW Health initiative supported by the NSW Department of Human Services (Community Services) and the Local Health Districts.
